Live Like Luke helps families with kids who have lengthy hospital stays. While many of our applicants have childhood cancer, we have also helped families with Sickle Cell Disease, Bacterial Meningitis, Trisomy 21, complicated heart surgeries, organ transplants, and more.
Our goal is to help families spend more time together while their child is in the hospital.
We raised over $100,000 at the 2025 Birthday Splash! This will allow us to continue our mission into 2026!

Baby T is an 18-month-old facing complex medical challenges that require frequent, extended hospital stays and life-sustaining care. Her long-term health depends on a successful kidney and possibly intestinal transplant.
She lives with her single mother and 10-year-old brother, and her mom is her sole caregiver with very limited family support. With the need to remain by Baby T’s bedside around the clock, maintaining steady employment simply isn’t possible.
During a prolonged hospitalization, Live Like Luke of Texas was able to cover the family’s rent and car payment, providing stability and relief so Mom could focus fully on what matters most—Baby T’s care.
Because of supporters like you, families like Baby T’s don’t have to choose between medical care and keeping a roof over their heads.

As we look back on this year, our hearts are full of gratitude. 🧡 Thank you to every donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter who showed up for Live Like Luke of Texas. Your generosity and belief in this mission make everything possible.
This year marked a huge milestone as we officially became a standalone 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing us to grow our impact and better serve families when they need it most. Because of you, we were able to continue supporting DFW families as they care for their children, easing financial burdens and bringing light and hope into some of their hardest days.
We’re so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to continue this work in the new year together. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us Live Like Luke. ✨

Live Like Luke of Texas granted this family one month’s car, mortgage, and utility payments to ease a bit of the strain. About Luke
We lost Luke, our beautiful 6-year-old son, on October 2, 2021, after a year-long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Even in his six short years, it was evident that Luke possessed a joy, a lightness of heart, and bravery that we could all learn from. Simply said: we were better people for having him in our lives. We believe if we wake up every day with the intention of living the way Luke lived, we can live in a better world.
About Us
In an effort to Live Like Luke, we are inspired to help those who are facing the challenges of childhood cancer. Though Luke’s time on earth was cut achingly short, the lesson he taught us as he bravely fought his battle with cancer endures.
While pursuing treatment for Luke, we witnessed firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial pressure impacting other patient families living in the rooms all around us.
It was common to witness young children alone in their hospital rooms because their parents could not afford to miss work. Parents are often forced to quit their jobs to be with their children during the intense medical treatment of their diseases, as well. These are just two examples of the heartbreaking difficulties we observed.
Luke’s legacy of joy, presence, and bravery has inspired us to establish the Live Like Luke Fund. Our mission is to honor Luke’s legacy by supporting families pursuing treatments similar to those Luke received during the last year of his life.
